Hey friends! For Christmas we gave my FIL tickets to a Chinese Lantern Festival. I had never been to one and was really intrigued about what it would be like. Saturday night we all (Patricks brother and son too) met for Chinese food for dinner, because when going to a Chinese lantern festival it only makes sense to eat Chinese food for dinner! We then headed over to the amphitheater where it was. I had no idea this was such a popular event, I am so glad that we got tickets ahead of time because the line was wrapped around.
It was so cold but we all bundled up and began walking through the exhibit. I'm so glad we thought to bring the stroller because it was so crowded that I would have been terrified of one of the boys running off. We all walked around and enjoyed looking at each exhibit.
It was like something I've not seen before, I really enjoyed this but I think next time I'll leave the boys at home. They were so cold and really not super interested in seeing the lights.
What an awesome experience!! I love going to things that let you experience new cultures.

It was so popular when it was here in the Fall. Glad you all got to go!

ReplyDeleteWow, lots of bright and beautiful light displays!
ReplyDeleteWell of course you had to eat Chinese food beforehand!! What a neat way to experience another culture. That dragon is amazing just in the pic, I bet it was spectacular in person.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun event! I never would have thought to go to something like this!
ReplyDeleteI need to look into this because I am all about looking for ways to honor and expose our kids to the Chinese culture...I wonder where the closest one is to us :) xoxo ERIN
