S'mores Brownies

Hey ya'll! Since national s'mores day is coming up a group of blogger friends and I thought it would be fun to do a little recipe blog hop having to do with this delicious treat! I was trying to think of some way to get creative with s'mores and came up with a s'mores brownie.

This recipe is super simple!

Ingreedients:

* Box of brownie mix {Ghirardelli dark chocolate is my absolute favorite}
* Graham crackers {about 10}
* Mini marshmallows
* 1/2 stick of butter

Steps:

* Crush up 10 graham crackers the consistency of course sand (I put them in a plastic bag and used a rolling pin and they easily crushed)
* melt butter
*combine butter and graham cracker crumbs and press firmly in the bottom of a 8x8 baking dish {I lined with parchment paper for easy clean up and to remove easily}

* prepare brownie mix as directed on the box. Pour batter over graham cracker crust and bake at 350 for 35 min {or until your brownies are finished}

* Once brownies are cooked combine 2 broken up Graham Crackers with mini marshmallows and evenly spread over brownies
*broil until marshmallows being to melt {2ish minutes} be sure to closely watch as they will begin to burn quickly.

* let sit until brownies are cooled before cutting!

* Enjoy!

As you can see this recipe is super simple! It doesn't require much cooking skill at all. A few tips on what I would do differently, I found that the marshmallows didn't really stick to the brownies once I went to cut them (hence my ugly pictures). If I were going to do this again I would take my brownies out halfway through baking and top with the marshmallow/graham cracker mixture and finish baking. I think this would make them stick to the brownies better.

I took these to a Fourth of July cookout and there were none left to take home, so I'd say regardless of them looking a hot mess they were a big hit!
