10 Facts about Me!

I love finding out more about people so when Erin's 10 on the 10th link up was announced and the first one was 10 random facts I knew I wanted to participate! Although, thinking of 10 random things was a bit hard for me..I guess i'm pretty #boring.

ONE | Steel Magnolias is my all time favorite movie. I can literally quote it from start to finish. My best friend and I love to text each other back and fourth with quotes.

TWO | I did a foreign exchange program when I was in 5th grade. I went to France for 3 weeks and lived with a family and then the daughter came back and lived with me for 3 weeks. (This was part of a program and there were probably 20 of us who did it). I can't imagine letting either one of my boys do this in Fifth grade! I guess times have changed.

THREE | I spent every summer but one (when we moved to NC in 7th Grade) going to summer camp. From the time I was 6 until pretty much I graduated College (I worked there all through college)

FOUR | I love trashy tv. Anything on Bravo...I watch it!

FIVE | I am a natural blonde

Six | My sisters are 9 and 6 years older than me. My college entrance paper was on how I grew up in a family of 5 and a family of 3..I was almost like an only child for most of my life.

SEVEN | Patrick and I met on match.com and my sister and her husband did as well.

EIGHT | I sleep with 2 baby blankets. {judge away} I took them with me to the hospital when I gave birth. If I forget them at home when we go out of town I can't sleep....My middle sister also sleeps with a blanket. We both forgot them on our recent trip to Charlotte. It was funny.

NINE | I always have polish on my nails. Its my guilty pleasure. A fresh manicure does wonders for my attitude

TEN | I come across as a very secure person but in reality I am very insecure about everything.

  3. That is SO cool that you went to France like that. Marissa will be in the 5th grade next year and I can't even fathom sending her like that... times HAVE changed. So fun to learn some more about you.

  5. It’s so fun to learn more about blog friends and I love this link-up so! Ahh, yes, Steel Magnolias! I adore that movie and can watch it over and over again. France in 5th grade? That’s both awesome and frightening to this mama. I couldn’t imagine letting Mason go to France in fifth grade. But you’re absolutely right, times have changed. Loved learning these random facts about you!

  6. I love these kind of posts! Steel Magnolias gets me every time. I can’t watch it without crying. My brother and I both met our spouses on match.com. I went France when I was 17 with a regional marching band. Most were strangers to me. I can’t imagine letting my kids do that.

  10. That is so fun that you went to France! Lexie is in 5th Grade and I couldn't imagine sending her to another country alone, but what an experience that must have been! We have a lot in common with our siblings. I have 6 older siblings. The next youngest after me is 6 1/2 years older and my oldest sibling is 15 1/2 years older. My early years were spent with a huge family and my teenage years were spent completely alone. It was really strange!

  12. I definitely can't imagine sending my 5th grader on a foreign exchange program...and I'm betting back when you went there weren't phones and email and constant contact!

  14. I still sleep with a pillow I received when I was 2 so I completely understand! I have traveled without it and I am okay but I know I sleep so much better with it around. Jess at Just Jess

  15. I, too, sleep with my childhood blanket! Someone once asked me if I intended on giving it to my children and I was like, "nope, absolutely not" haha. It's like a choking hazard now, anyway!

  16. We got rid of cable a couple of years ago and they only thing I really, really miss is Bravo. And Hallmark movies during Christmas! Confession, I've never seen Steel Magnolias! I need to get on that.

  17. I've never seen Steel Magnolias, but I was in a stage version of it in college. I was Ouiser (I think I spelled that right...it's been a while!), and it was so fun to be a grumpy old lady! My brother and I are 8 years apart. I'm older, so I always mothered him. I read a study on birth order that said if there is more than a 5 year age gap, then it is like being an only child. Those types of things fascinate me!

  18. I wouldn't say it's my favorite but I agree that Steel Magnolias is a good movie. In fact, my daughter (Shelby) is named after Julia Roberts character in the film.
