Scenes from my weekend!

Whew this was such a fun and busy weekend!! We checked off several things from our Christmas bucket list.

Friday night we had family fun night. We took the boys to get mexican and then went to ride the little train at the rec. For two weeks they light it up and its truly magical! Jack loved it and asked if he could go again and it was the stillest I've ever seen Graham sit.

After the train we came home and put Graham to bed. Then Jack and I snuggled up and watched The Santa Claus before he went to bed.

Saturday morning was the Christmas parade. We met up with some of our friends and had a great time. Our parade is nothing grand but I love it. All the dance studios participate and then lots of other random businesses. The boys loved hearing the loud trucks and horns honking, they would crack up!

After we left we hit up Chick-Fil-A and headed home. This is when I started to not feel great. Remember when I mentioned that Jack had been sick last week..well he had been better for several days. I thought we were all in the clear. I was wrong. I couldn't even finish my chick-fil-a sandwich and fries, and if you love CFA you know thats virtually impossible. I thought a nap on the sofa would help and it did a little but as the late afternoon continued I felt worse and worse. I ended up getting in bed about 4:00 and stayed there until morning. I don't know what came over me but I felt awful. Thankfully I never actually got sick and with a zofran and some rest I was feeling back to my usual self yesterday morning. I hope that it was just a quick 24 hour thing and no one else will get it! I was so bummed though because we had plans to go to a tacky sweater Christmas party that night and of course we could't go! I had the best sweaters picked out so I have got to find a place to wear them!

Sunday we spent the morning playing around the house. The boys have really begun to play with each other and they were wild! Sunday evening Jack and I went to an event at Church about the Christmas Story. We had supper and the kids did a craft and put on a puppet show. It was fun and I'm glad to know that Jack is coming out of his shyness. He walked right into the classroom for his activity and didn't even look back at me.

Over all it was a great weekend, minus the whole sick thing. I have lots of fun posts planned for this week. Tomorrow I'm going to link up and show a tour of our house all decked out! I also have a post coming about our North Pole Breakfast!

What fun did you get into this weekend?

  1. I'm so glad the boys loved the parade so much. My kids are the same way about trucks. When Emmy hears one she says, "Tuck, see it!" It's so funny. Boo to getting sick. I'm so sorry. I'm glad it didn't last long or ruin your weekend.

  2. What fun! All the Christmasy goodness!! Isn't this just the very best time of year?

  3. I'm so glad you were only sick for a little while and not the whole weekend! I love small town Christmas parades! Ours is Thursday night!

  4. I am loving all the Christmas stuff you guys did this weekend. Our weekend plans had changed a bit (my friends 30th birthday party has been moved to tonight instead of Saturday) too. I can't wait to see all the posts coming!
