Weekend Happenings

Here we are Monday morning! It was super hard for me to wake up this morning but thanks to a 5:45 am bedtime intruder {Jack} I am up earlier than usual!

Our weekend was spent watching the Olympics the majority of the time. Friday night we got a sitter and went to our friends house to eat dinner and watch the opening ceremonies. It was nice not to have to chase after Graham the entire time. We were able to actually enjoy being at our friends and sit and watch the opening ceremonies.

Speaking of the opening ceremonies..Seriously, I was SO bored. I have been so jazzed about them and counted down all week! I don't know if I just didn't understand what they were trying to do or what but it was a total snooze fest for me!

On Saturday other than a forced outing to get out of the house and eat some lunch we spent the day watching the Olympics and playing with the boys. We made the switch from infant carseat to convertible for Graham. He looks so tiny in it but I think will be much more comfortable. He had started to scream every time we were in the car.

Much to our surprise around 4:00 we got a call from Patricks parents asking if they could come pick the boys up for a sleepover! We didn't hesitate to say YES! I quickly packed a bag for them and off they went to spend the night with nana and grandaddy! I'm not sure who was more excited, Jack or Grandaddy!

Patrick and I continued our binge watching of sports and then decided to get dressed and head to dinner. We went to a mexican restaurant in town that I'd say is more "upscale mexican" if that's even a thing. We've only been one time because I wouldn't say its super kid friendly. We had a great time! On our way home we hit up dairy queen and then you guessed it..parked our fannies on the sofa and continued watching the Olympics. I'm pretty sure I fell asleep on the sofa. {per the usual}. We were in bed by 10. We have officially reached old people status and I'm not sad about it one bit.

Sunday we picked the boys up and you guessed it..spent the day watching the Olympics and being inside. It was so muggy and gross out! Jack and I did make a trip to the grocery store. Which he managed to finally ride in the car cart. I have managed to escape this for going on 3 years. My streak ended yesterday. He was having so much fun driving it that I honestly didn't mind. It's a beast to drive, and I may have run into an end cap but to see him happy was worth it! It also gave me much more cart space!

Saturday night we picked up these two costumes that a friend got for us from Costco. As soon as Jack got home Sunday I knew he would want to put them on! They were so cute and funny at the same time. I'm hoping to save the Fireman costume for Halloween. We will see if I can keep all the pieces in tact until then!

This sweet baby may not be pulling up but he is starting to stand on his own when I help him up! Look at those chunky legs..

So that was our weekend in a nutshell! Olympics, Olympics, and more Olympics! Can I just say that I wish they didn't save all the good things for late at night. I stayed up way too late last night watching swimming {one of my favorites!} and wanted to continue with gymnastics but by 11:00 this mama had to go to bed!

I hope you had a great weekend! If you didn't enter my 100th post give away on instagram head over there {@threeboysandagirlblog} and find the post! All you have to do is like my instagram page and comment on the post and tag a friend! I'm not sure many people actually followed all the directions {the teacher in me is annoyed} but the ones that did will be entered!

Check back tomorrow when I will finally recap our trip to Michigan!

  1. I didn't get home friday night until 9:30, so I missed a bunch of the opening ceremony, but I was bored with what I saw. I've enjoyed watching the games so far. Did you see Katie Ledecky last night? Holy cow!! She's amazing. And the gymnastics is making me so happy.

  2. Our bedtime intruder has been hitting much more lately, so I feel you, haha. We started watching the Olympics' opening ceremonies, but you're right - snooze. We got through maybe 10 minutes before we switched to something else. I was not impressed at all. And, lol, we are totally at old people status too. I don't even remember the last time I was up past 9:30/10:00! Glad you guys enjoyed your weekend!

  3. I spent quite a bit of time watching the Olympics this weekend, too. I think it was on all day Sunday!

  4. How nice!! So wish my parents were close enough to pick up the kids like that! All Stella wants to do is be outside and it's so miserable. I guess if I could be naked, like her, it wouldn't be so bad! haha

  5. That's so awesome that you had a spontaneous date night!
I honestly forgot about the opening ceremony. It was such a busy week and by the time I remembered, it was too late!
