Friday started out with school for Jack. This little boy has decided waking up at 5:55 every morning is the thing to do. Mama disagrees. He was passed out by 7:45 that morning.
I have been trying to do a barre class 2-3 days a week so while my sitter was here with Graham I took advantage and went to class. Later that afternoon after naps Graham had one of his buddies come over and play. The weather was beautiful so Jack and Hudson played outside and my girlfriend and I enjoyed some porch time!
We ordered pizza and the boys were in bed pretty early. I fell asleep about 8:15 on the sofa {per the usual}. It was one of those deep, dreaming kind of sleeps. Of course when Patrick woke me up at 10 to go to bed I was wide awake and didn't end up falling asleep until after 11. Does that happen to anyone else? I can be dead asleep on the sofa and as soon as I go up and get ready for bed I'm wide awake. It drives Patrick crazy!
Saturday was spent outside. All day. We made a quick trip to Lowes and to get Chick-Fil-A per Jack's request. We enjoyed lunch on the porch and Jack played outside until nap time. Graham experienced swinging for the first time and I think it's safe to say he loved it. Jack was so sweet and wanted to push him. At one point he ran up to him saying "that's my baby brother!" {heart melting!} I've never heard him say that sentence and I instantly turned into a puddle of mush.
The boys took early baths since we had our sitter coming so Patrick and I could have a date night! First stop on our date night....Staples. Yes, you read that correctly! Patrick needed to pick up some office supplies for work and I took the opportunity to pick up supplies to create the forever boxes that Jess blogged about on Friday.
Next up we went to dinner. We sat right down and I'm not kidding within 10 minutes of ordering not only had we been served our salad but before we could even finish our salad the waitress was trying to put our dinner plates down. Now here's my issue....I am on a date night. I have a babysitter at home, I put on makeup and got dressed in something other than yoga pants. I'm not trying to speed through my meal. This isn't McDonalds. Needless to say I was super annoyed by this. From start to finish it only took us 40 minutes! Yes...4-0! Not my idea of a relaxing meal! Lesson learned we will not order our actual meal until well after we finish our salads. I mean Jack hadn't even gone to bed yet.
post dinner...we really just laughed about the whole thing
After we did some driving around we ended up at some of our friends house and had a drink and chatted with them for awhile. I wasn't about to head home after only being gone an hour!
Sunday, Jack and I went to church while Patrick stayed home with Graham. We really didn't do a thing after that. My in-laws came over for an early dinner. We were going to grill burgers. I had hoped to sit on the porch but it has all of a sudden turned chilly. North Carolina weather is so bipolar right now!
Someone's been watching mama do yoga...better downward dog than I do
Patrick went to take the cover off the grill so he could light it and found this, much to our surprise. Apparently he didn't have the cover all the way on and a sweet little mama bird decided it would make the perfect home for a little nest, fit with 4 little eggs. There goes our plan to grill! Thankfully I have a grill pan inside so we were still able to have burgers. Guess we won't be grilling anytime in the next few weeks!
Sunday ended with sweet snuggles on the sofa with my big guy! Love these little moments with him.
I hope you have a great start to your week! My mom's coming on Wednesday to have lunch with us while on her way to see my sweet grandmother. Other than that we really don't have much planned. Jack only has 2 more weeks of school so I'm making the most of it!
Looks like a pretty great weekend. That's happened to us at dinner before and I get annoyed because I want to enjoy my little bit of time out.
ReplyDeleteYay for date nights! That also happens to me when I take a nap on the couch right before bed time. haha! Sounds like a pretty great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's great you are getting to barre class so often! I definitley miss it!

Haha, you sound like me crashing early on the couch! I can sometimes fall right back to sleep, but often end up tossing and turning for an hour. "That's my baby brother!" - melt my heart!! I hate being rushed through meals. Especially when it's a date night. But then when kids are there, it takes forever. Can't win!! Sounds like you guys had a great weekend! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend to me. We have a bird that laid her eggs in our porch rafters. She has done it for a few years in a row now. Didn't think about them doing that in the bbq.
