Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! This has been an unusually busy week for me.

One// I have been munching on these bars that Karli posted about all week long. They are so yummy and offer a sweet treat yet stays pretty clean ingredient wise!

Two// This little nugget turned 6 months old yesterday. I am really working with him on trying to sit up but so far he's only mastering the tripod stance..which is better than what he was doing which was basically a forward fold!

Three// Now that the weather is warm its too hot to wear my standard leggings every day. I recently got this dress and its the perfect weight for warm days! Also..lets note that my hair is actually dow and styled...thanks to an all important hair appointment I had yesterday morning! {note..I am no photographer...I really need to work on my photo taking skills and find a floor length mirror not in my kids room!}

Four// Our sweet sweet lab Roscoe has not been doing well. His back leg keeps giving out and he's really gone down hill the past several days. He has been Patricks baby for almost 14 years and from the start I've known that he comes before me! He's been getting some extra snuggles and attention lately.

Five// I saw this earlier this week and it totally cracked me up! If only my rolls were that cute! Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

Six// Speaking of my winter body, I have been trying to get to a barre class a few days a week and oh man I am so sore! The class is awesome and she makes us work areas that I didn't even know existed. Right now my sides hurt to do anything and my thighs are on fire. I'm headed back to class in the morning!

That's all I've got for this week. We've got a low key weekend planned. Having some friends over for dinner tonight and hopefully taking Jack to Touch-a-Truck Saturday morning! You can follow me on instagram (@emilynbeaman) to see what we are up to! Have a great weekend, see you back here Monday for my weekend wrap-up!

What's Up Wednesday!

Today I'm linking up to talk about what I've been up to!

 1. What we're eating this week...
I made these oven fajitas last night. They are so quick and such an easy week night meal. I put mine over lettuce...because Weight Watchers. I topped them with some shredded cheese, avocado, fresh salsa, and a little sour cream. Patrick put them on tortillas. We have leftovers which I plan on putting on another salad for lunch this week.

2. What I'm reminiscing about....
I cannot believe that Graham will be 6 months old tomorrow. It seems like just yesterday he was a tiny babe in the NICU hooked up to wires. Now he is rolling like crazy, starting solids, and learning to sit up on his own. Seriously, I need this time to slow down. I swear its going faster than it did with Jack. I'm going to be planning his 1st birthday soon. {Now I'm going to go cry into my coffee}

3. What I'm loving....
The weather! It is perfect!! There is no humidity, which if you live in the south you know we experience high humidity all dang summer. I am relishing in the warm temps and spending our afternoon outside without breaking into a sweat. I'm loving our screened in porch right now and that I can sit in there with Graham and watch Jack play in the back yard.

4.  What we've been up to...
We really haven't been up to much of anything lately.  A lot of outside time. {see #3}

5. What I'm dreading...
The heat! I am not someone who loves hot weather. I hate sweating, being hot and all that comes with hot and humid. I love winter...don't stone me. Summer is great and there are tons of things I love about it, the heat is not one of them! Give me 70-80 degree days with no humidity and I would love it.

6. What I'm working on...
My fitness. I've really tried to step up my fitness these past few weeks. Ive added in going to a barre class 1-2 times a week and I'm pushing myself to try and get 4-5 days of workouts in.

7. What I'm excited about...
We are heading to a golf tournament soon with some of our best friends. I can't wait for a weekend with good friends and family. My babies will be with my in-laws {have I mentioned how amazing they are?} and I'm excited to have a kid free few days..although I'm sure I will miss the boys the second we leave them.

8. What I'm watching...
I am loving Southern Charm and Real Housewives of New York. Anything on bravo is right up my ally. I'm also really loving Quantico. Patrick and I watch it together and there are so many twists and turns.

9. What I'm listening to...
Anything country. The radio station in my car stays on country.

10.  What I'm wearing...
Of course my go to outfit is still my #momgear. Leggings and a top. However now that it's getting warmer I will trade my leggings for a workout skort. Athleta has some great ones and if you want to spend the money lululemon has some great ones! when I'm not wearing said momgear I have been loving these Lilly Pulitzer betsy tops. They are a great t-shirt but not form fitting. I wore this outfit out Friday night. The top and sweater are both Lilly and the white jeans are Old Navy Rockstar Jeans. This whole outfit is my spring/summer staple.

11. What I'm doing this weekend...
We don't really have any plans. Saturday I think we are going to take Jack to Touch-a -Truck in Greenville. I don't know a whole lot about it other than there are lots of trucks, (firetruck, garbage truck, dump truck....) and kids get to see them and get in them. Since Jack is obsessed with anything with wheels right now I thought this would be a fun thing for us to go do.

12.  What I'm looking forward to next month...
Going to the golf tournament. The club pool opening. Possibly a trip to the beach.

13. What else is new...
Right now life is pretty boring, which is OK by me. We are in a good routine with the boys and things seem to be smooth sailing..for now. I'm sure if you ask me this question next week things will change!

So there you have it friends, what I've been up to lately! I'd love to hear what you've been up to. Happy Wednesday!

Scenes from my weekend

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a great weekend. Of course they always go too fast! Our weekend consisted of a lot of family time...my favorite!

Friday night we dropped the boys at my in-laws and went to dinner with some friends. It was fun to catch up and have some adult time!

Saturday was definitely family day. Jack is into anything that has wheels. Trucks, tractors, bus, firetruck, basically your typical toddler boy! We drove out to one of our friends farms to look at the animals and all their equipment. Jack was in heaven. I stayed in the car with Graham and Patrick followed him from one tractor to the next. He got in every single one and knew right where the key was. It was Jacks perfect outing! After a quick lunch stop we came home and everyone took great afternoon naps!

Saturday night I had plans for us to grill out and spend the majority of the afternoon/evening outside. Too bad the weather had other plans. Right as I was getting home from the grocery the bottom fell out and it started storming. It did end up clearing enough so that we could Grill but our outside plans didn't happen. Both boys went to bed early. At about 8:30 I looked over to Patrick as we were both just sitting there watching tv and suggested that we go up to bed. We were in bed with the lights out about 9:15. My how Saturday nights have changed in our house! {not really...I've always been one to go to bed early!}

Sunday we spent most of the day outside. Jack would be outside sun up to sun down these days so after I put Graham down for nap the rest of us headed out to the backyard. I posted up on the porch with my coffee and some TV and Jack helped Patrick put together a new water table.

We met my in-laws for some BBQ for lunch and then home for naps. After nap Jack and I ran to get a car wash and to the grocery store. Its so rare that I get just one on one time with him and I love when it happens. A quick stop through starbucks on the way home with coffee and a cake pop and this was one happy boy! Of course this followed up with some more outside time before dinner!

I made this cheeseburger casserole for dinner. It was really yummy and made a ton. Perfect for a crowd or leftovers for the week. It was easy to throw together.

It was a great low key weekend, the weather was perfect other than the storm Saturday night. Here's to a new week which is shaping out to be quite busy!

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday, friends!  It's been a great week around here. The weather has been fabulous and we've spent most of the boys awake time outside. If it were up to Jack we would be outside from sun up to sun down.  Lets get right to my favorites this week!

// I have really long, thick hair. In turn whenever I shower my hair is like one big dread lock after I get out and try to comb it out. It's always been such a process and quite frankly hurts! Last time I got my hair done my hair dresser Kellie used a wet brush on my hair and it combed through the matted mess with ease. I was shocked...of course I immediately bought one and haven't looked back since! My nieces have been using these brushes for years and I always assumed it was a kids brush...heck no. Seriously go buy one. Now. You won't regret it!

// I started weight watchers this week. I had success doing it back in college and with the nudging from a friend who is also doing it I decided to join. I really like the system because I can eat what I want, as long as I have the points, and its a great visual for me to see what I am actually putting in my mouth. It definitely makes me think twice about those M&M's that are in the cabinet! I have been trying to come up with healthy lunch options and stumbled upon this recipe for healthier chicken salad from another blog I was reading. Ya'll, it's so good! I put it on a bagel thin with a small amount of cheese and toasted it...hello chicken salad melt!

// I love that Jack comes home with a cute craft most every day from preschool. Right now These are are hanging in my kitchen and I adore seeing those little feet and hands every time I open my pantry cabinet! I have gobs and gobs of his artwork from this past year, I can't bring myself to throw it away. So, seasoned mamas, what do you do with your babies art work? How do you store it?

// We built a screened in porch about a year and half ago. Last summer we ordered some outdoor furniture but that was about the extent to decorating that we did. I got the bug this week to add a few things to make it more homey. I got everything from target, they have a great outdoor selection right now! I added the end table, two lanterns, rug, and pillows. The garden seat was in my house but I had been wanting to find a new place for it and this was perfect!

// Like I said above, we've spent tons of time outside this week. I love that I can sit on the porch with Graham and watch Jack play in the backyard! I foresee this being my home base for the next 5 months.

// Lastly, I know I am constantly talking about how sweet Jack and Grahams relationship is. Last night we were at my in-laws and I looked over and this is what I saw. Heart. Melting. I can't wait to see them grow and play and fingers crossed be the best of friends!

Not much going on this weekend, I'm sure the majority of it will be spent outside. I hope that you have a great weekend! See you Monday for my weekend wrap-up!
