Happy Friday friends! This has been such a crazy week. I still can't believe the election has come and gone. I'm not sad to see the ads, phone calls, and mailers disappear. I am however sad at the way the country has reacted. Whether you voted for Hillary or Trump I honestly don't care. What I do care about is that people treat everyone with kindness. I have no respect for those that do not. My Facebook newsfeed has been nothing but hate and ugliness. And I'm sick of it! I hope that whichever way you feel about the outcome you at least respect others viewpoints. It's time to come together as one nation and quit beating others down for having a difference of opinion! {and I'm stepping off my soap box now!}
I also would like to give a big THANK YOU to all of our Veterans! Thank you for your service to our country. Thank you for keeping me safe and allowing my boys to live in the land of the free. Thank you for your sacrifice and for every single thing you have done to support our great country! I appreciate and respect you more than you will ever know!!!
And now for my favorites from this week!
O N E // My mom has been in town this week and the other night we met my precious 93 year old grandmother (her mom) for dinner. I only live about 15 minutes from my mimi and although I don't see her nearly as much as I would like I adore the times we spent together. We discussed the election, and how many past elections she has seen since her birth..23! Spending time with her is good for my heart and I adore these two women more than I can ever explain!
T W O // Jack came in from playing outside yesterday and handed me a flower that he picked for me. I have been waiting 3 years for him to do this. It was so sweet and a definite favorite of mine!
T H R E E // We took Jack to his first NC State basketball game on Monday night. He had the best time! We met up with some friends of ours who have a son thats a good friend of Jacks. It made it more interesting for Jack to have a friend to watch with. Surprisingly he did really well and watched and was entertained.
F O U R // Jack had school on election day this year and his cute teacher created her own election for the classroom. They voted to see if Elmo or Ernie would become president. It was the cutest thing I've ever read about! Elmo won, of course!
F I V E // You've got to get this turtleneck from Target. It's so soft and has a flowy bodice which I love. It comes in lots of colors. I may or may not have ordered multiple ones. I'm wearing it in black in the picture with my mom and mimi.
S I X // We had our family pictures taken last weekend and got to see some sneak peeks last night. I am loving this one of my 3 boys! Be. Still. My. Heart.
We have lots of fun things planned this weekend, a basketball/date night tonight and Saturday night we are going to Raleigh to this awesome steak place with 4 other of our couple friends! I hope you have something fun planned, too!!

Girl, I'm right with you on the election. I'm so glad it's over, but I'm so saddened by people's reactions. It's done people! And when will people realize violence isn't the answer. Ugh! Yay for Jack's first football game. That sounds like fun. Love the photo of your boys. Can't wait to see the rest. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the Elmo election. That turtleneck looks beautiful, I might just need to check it out the next time I run to Target. Jess at Just Jess
ReplyDeleteThat picture of your boys is just too precious!
ReplyDeleteI love all the Fall photos you have been showing. Love them!!! And the elmo election is just too darling. So sweet that Jack brought you a flower. I love when our kids do sweet things like that.
