Hey sweet friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. We had a relatively low key weekend. Friday we just hung out at home. We ordered pizza and Jack and I got in our soft clothes before 7 and baked cookies. He has discovered how good cookie dough tastes and kept saying "I'm just going to try one more!"
Saturday morning I decided to finally bring all the christmas decorations downstairs. (and by me, I mean Patrick). While Graham took his morning nap I got to decorating. It's been a slow process but it is all starting to come together. I hope to get our tree right after Thanksgiving!
Saturday afternoon Jack and I headed to his little friend Brady's 3rd birthday party. It was at the park and Jack was in heaven! He has really begun to love the slide! I think he did it over, and over, and over! I had to laugh because at one point he and his friend Hudson ran off. Normally this wouldn't bother us but the park was packed and I really didn't want to lose eye sight of him. Hudson dad said "I've got this!" and ran after them. Next thing I know I turn around and he has them walking back like this. We laughed and laughed!
Saturday night Patrick and I had our babysitter come and went out to dinner. We stat in the bar next to the fireplace and really had a great night. One of my favorite things about Patrick is that he indulges me in my obsession for taking pictures. So, when we walked into the parking lot and I saw the Christmas tree was still lit I asked if we could take a picture. Mind you it was freezing cold and super windy! He did it without a complaint.
One of the things I loved about Patrick when I met him was that he had a big family that he was close with. His dad is one of 5 siblings and they all get together for each holiday. Sunday we headed to one of his aunts house for and early Thanksgiving. There were 30 of us ranging in age from 93 (Patricks grandmama) to 1 (my sweet Grahammy). I caught this sweet moment between Jack and his Greatmama.
It was a great weekend!
Now onto a fun Christmas Challenge that my cute bloggy friend Ashley from Everythings Hunky Dorey is doing. I have been trying to think of a way to teach Jack and Graham the importance and meaning of the Christmas season and how it is more than just Santa Claus and presents. So when Ashley emailed me last week asking if I wanted to participate in her 25 acts of Christmas kindness Challenge I was totally on board!
Each day there is a prompt of something that we can do as a random act of kindness for someone else. They are all fairly simple and can help to brighten someones day. I hope to have Jack help me do these each day and to teach him how important it is to do for others. As Graham grows older I want to teach him this as well. I want my boys to grow up to be kind and thoughtful and realize that it feels so much better to do and give than to receive!
You do not have to be a blogger to participate! Simply share your act of kindness with a picture on instagram using the #25daysofkindnesss2016
I hope that you will participate in as many days as you can! This will be such a fun way to spread Christmas cheer and teach our sweet little ones the true meaning of Christmas!

ReplyDeleteBut in all seriousness, I love that Christmas challenge. It's so important to teach our littles the true meaning of the holiday season.
I love this list for Christmas Kindness. B and I are really working to teach the kids about kindness, so we will have to do a few of these!
