Jack Turns Three!

Whew, ya'll...two birthdays in the span of 8 days is not for the faint of heart! I didn't realize just how busy it would be until the week of. Just as soon as we got done celebrating sweet Graham it was time to switch gears and make our Jack feel extra special.

He started with a little birthday treat at school on Thursday. Friday we were able to pick up the bounce house for his party on Sunday so we had our sweet friend Brady over and the boys jumped and jumped (and Megan and I may have as well) and then ordered pizza.

Saturday was Jack's actual birthday! Our city is known for these amazing Whirligigs and every fall there is a festival downtown. This year they had a cute touch-a-truck event and since my boy loves any and all things truck we knew this would be the way to his birthday heart! We had donuts and then headed down there after Graham woke up! It was so cute and Jack and Patrick got to go for a ride in a bucket truck and go up pretty high! It was the perfect way to celebrate our big boy turning 3!

Sunday was Jacks birthday party. It was a firetruck theme and turned out to be so fun! We had all of his little friends over and they bounced in the bounce house and had cupcakes. It was nothing over the top but it was precious and fun and my little guy had the best time!

To my big boy! I cannot believe that you are three years old! The time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital, I was a nervous wreck. We struggled at first. Being a first time mom is hard! I doubted every move I made and was worried that every cry you let out (which was a lot at first!) meant I was doing something wrong or you were hurt. Thank you for being patient with me. Once we got in our groove it was smooth sailing. From the moment I laid eyes on you I knew what it meant to see your heart beating outside of your chest. Your bright red hair, big blue eyes and sweet smile can make my heart stop and turn me into a puddle of mush in an instant. You have the sweetest soul. You love hard (and whine harder sometimes!). I adore hearing you say "lub you mommy!" and lately you tell me how cute I look, which melts me right then and there. You are so kind and loving to your friends and everyone that meets you can tell just how sweet you really are. Your daddy and I love you big time and watching you become a big brother over the past year has been amazing. You are the worlds best big brother and Graham adores you. The two of you have a bond like nothing else and I can't wait to watch that grow and develop with each passing year. I know you will do big things this next year, sweet boy!! I can't wait to stand by and watch you as you go from being my baby, to my toddler to now my little boy. I love you to the moon and back my precious first born!!

Tomorrow I am going to share all about his party, my sweet sitter took the best photos and it deserves a post of its own!
