Scenes from my weekend- Graham's Baptism

Whew do you ever need a weekend to recover from your weekend? I feel that way today! We had a fun but very busy weekend. We had Graham baptized on Sunday and my parents and sister and niece came to town. I failed to take many pictures this weekend...guess that means we were busy having fun!

Friday night Patrick and I met up with my parents and grandmama for dinner. The boy spent the night at my in-laws which means...mama got to sleep in on Saturday!

Saturday morning we went to a birthday party for Jacks little friend Hudson. It was a train theme and Jack was in heaven! I think he was on a sugar high most of the morning...donuts with nana and grandaddy followed up by cupcakes at the party. Luckily it didn't seem to affect his nap because he fell asleep in the car before we even got home and slept for almost 4 hours!

My sister and niece arrived early afternoon and that night we had both my parents, grandmother and Patricks parents over for dinner. It was a lot of fun but I get so stressed when I have everyone over. I feel like everything has to be perfect. I also wanted to make sure I had everything ready for lunch after the Baptism. I don't think I sat down all day and by the time I went to bed my eyes hurt and I fell asleep before my head hit the pillow.

Sunday we got up and got to church. I swear...I can't get anywhere on time no matter how hard I try. I started getting ready extra early because I didn't want to feel rushed and I knew I would have to get both boys dressed at the last minute. I was still rushing around and ended up breaking a sweat by the time I got in the car. #noshame

The service was really sweet and Jack was on his best behavior. This was the first time he's sat in the service and I was a bit worried he would not cooperate. He did think as soon as the organ started playing that it was Beethoven {thanks to grandaddy who shows him youtube videos}. He went right up with us and participated when our minister asked him if he would be good big brother and show Graham the way at Church. He was quite cute and I was so proud of both my boys for not having meltdowns at all!

After the service we had lunch at our house with our families. It was such a special day!

Graham wore the same gown that my mom had made for me 30 years ago. It has been worn by myself, my two nieces, nephew, Jack and now Graham. I love that it was hand made by my mom and that it's been passed on. I hope that my boys will pass it on to their children.

We all took long afternoon naps after everyone left. This sweet boy was worn out!

I hope you had a great weekend!

  1. Looks like a great weekend at the baptism. I can't believe you have all worn that gown over the years!

    1. it was a lot of fun! The gown is so special to me. My older sisters wore one that dated back a hundred years or so but by the time I would have worn it someone had literally kicked through the fabric it was so old. Which is why my mom made this one for me :)
