Scenes from my Weekend

We had a pretty low key weekend around here which was much needed after last weekends wedding events.

Friday night we had some friends over to grill out. Its been a really chilly spring but it was beautiful out so we figured the kids could play outside and we could enjoy the nice weather. Not 5 minutes after everyone got here Jack and his friend Charlotte ran outside and were headed down the porch steps and I guess got tangled up in each other and Jack went face first down the steps. I walked outside and saw Jack laying there, luckily he only cried for a minute and then saw the balls in the yard and was off to play. It looked worse than it felt I guess because he didn't complain about the scrape once.

Saturday was a lazy day. We did some errands in the morning and the boys took really long afternoon naps. We went to visit some friends after nap and then ordered pizza on the way home. My MIL came by and ate with us and gave the boys baths for me. {yay!} Early bed times for the boys and I parked my fanny on the sofa...where I fell asleep not 5 minutes later and proceeded to sleep for 2 hours..
nothing sweeter than a sleeping babe!

Anyone else like a little ranch with their pizza?

Sunday Jack and I made a Target run and then he and Patrick planted a few little flowers and some basil. Target had the cutest kits on the One Spot and I picked up a few...I have a black thumb so I didn't want to do anything too big. These are perfect and Jack is so excited to water them and take care of them. Probably because it means he gets to go outside...the kid has learned how to open our back door and tries to escape at any possible moment. I have a feeling we will be living outside for the next 5 months.

If you follow me on instagram (@emilynbeaman) you saw a video of Jack I posted...which is one of the reasons why I don't have many pictures of him lately. Any time I pull out the camera I have to bribe him to smile and even then 99% of the time he runs away...ah the joys of a two year old!

Sunday afternoon we had a birthday party to go to. There was a clown and Jack loved watching his magic tricks. Graham chilled in his carseat most of the time. After the party we headed over to my in-laws for some more cake to celebrate my mother in laws birthday.

Not a lot going on around here this weekend but sometimes thats the way I like it. Spending time with my people is where I'm happiest! Leave a comment and let me know if you did anything fun!

  1. So fun! My kids got gardening gloves from the Easter bunny this year, so I guess we need to get out and plant something soon!
