Happy Fri-Yay! I'm so glad it's the weekend. This week went by pretty fast but it's been hotter than hot here and while it's not going to cool down a lot I think I say some high 80's for the weekend.
I'm sharing my favorites from the week.
O N E // Homemade cookies. Is there anything better? The other afternoon my best friend sent me a snap of some cookies she was baking. They looked so good I decided I just had to bake some. So Jack and I got to work and we had fresh chocolate chip cookies in no time. I always use the standard Toll House recipe on the back of the chocolate chips. Sometimes I'll add oats and M&Ms, this time I just used dark chocolate chips. They were so yummy! I had to share some with my in-laws the other night so that I wouldn't eat the entire batch.
T W O // Last night while we were saying the blessing at dinner Jack made me laugh so hard. I was trying to contain it, because..it's the blessing! We usually say "God is" and Jack will follow up with "Great" then we will say "God is" and he will say "good" well last night we said our part and Jack decided to say "not good!" and "not great!" It's really not funny but at the time it caught us so off guard that I couldn't help but laugh. Obviously we all love God and think he's the bomb diggity! Kids seriously say the funniest things. It's definitely one I had to write down to remember always.
T H R E E // I have talked in detail about my "mom uniform" that I typically am found wearing 90% of the days but it's seriously been so hot here that aside from wanting to wear a bathing suit non stop, which lets be honest, wouldn't be appropriate most days, I can't even bring myself to wear workout clothes. I have this swing dress and it's perfect. Its not fitted so it gets some air going under neath it and its super comfy. This has become a staple for me most days and I can't wait for the long sleeve version to come out in the fall.
F O U R // I mentioned in my post yesterday that I wanted to do some small changes in our house. I bought these light fixtures from Lowes the other day and can't wait to see how they look. I hope that Patrick can install them this weekend. They were a great price and luckily if they look terrible we can just return to our local store.
Well I had planned to do five things but I hear one child screaming from his jump jump and the other is screaming at the door for "daddy" because I would let him watch the iPad! Price I pay for not writing my post when they are asleep! #reallife!
Have a great weekend friends! Patricks aunt and uncle are coming to town so I'm sure we will be spending lots of time at his parents house!

Those cookies look so yummy! I would have eaten them all. I love the light fixtures. We are working on finding some we like too. I can't wait to see photos. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love that first light. So much amazingness going on there. I want to make cookies so badly, but my oven sucks. Part of the reason we are renovating. I love that swing dress. So cute, comfy and breezy!
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever make cookies, because i swear I'll end up eating all of them!!! Sharing them is the best compromise!
