Disney World Days 1-2

Hey friends, I'm back!! It was so nice to take a little bit of a blogging break and enjoy my trip last week. We really had the best time and I am excited to share all about it. I don't want to forget any details. I'm going to break this up into a few recaps and then a general post on my tips and tricks on traveling to Disney.

As I mentioned before Jack and I went on this trip with my two sisters, their 3 kids and my mom. We left Saturday morning bright and early. We were going to meet up with the rest of our crew at the Orlando airport. My sister Ellen and her 2 kids had an issue with their first flight being cancelled so unfortunately they missed their connection in Charlotte where they were going to meet up with my other sister Gray and my mom. So Jack and I ended up meeting Gray, my niece Anna, and my mom in Orlando. We caught the Magical Express and headed to the Polynesian Resort.

After checking in we grabbed a quick bite to eat and headed off to the Magic Kingdom. The nice thing about staying where we did is that we literally could see the MK from our room. The monorail goes right from our resort to the MK.

We rode Buzz Lightyear, Pirates of the Caribbean and met Ariel. A quick Mickey Mouse ice cream treat and we headed back to our hotel to meet up with Ellen and her kiddos before heading to Chef Mickey dinner at the Contemporary resort.

This dinner was so cute! Jack was so excited to see Mickey, Minnie,  Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck. I was unsure how he would act around them but he blew me away! He perfected his sweet little smile and ran up to each one of them so excited! It was the perfect way to start our trip and made everything so worth it to see it through his eyes!

After dinner we headed back to our resort and went to bed, we knew we had to be up early the next morning.

We headed to Hollywood Studios bright and early Sunday morning. We immediately went and rode a Star Wars 3-D ride and then had fast passes for Disney Jr. Live and the little girls went to see the Little Mermaid. They were both cute shows but I think we realized that our kids were not going to be the kind to want to go and see all the shows.

Jack and Andrew got to meet Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates and then we headed off to Hollwood and Vine for lunch with the Disney Jr. Characters.

After lunch we went and rode Toy Story Mania which we had a FP for. Everyone loved this ride, we then decided we were ready to leave and head back to our resort. Of course Jack fell asleep as we were waiting for the bus, he got a good snooze in while we waited and rode back to the resort. We decided to spend the afternoon at the pool and then head over to the MK for dinner and a few rides.

We had a great start to our trip and the kids were all so well behaved. Jack really surprised me as I was unsure of how he would be without a good nap and staying up late! Tomorrow I'll recap the Animal Kingdom and Epcot!

  2. How cute is he?! I'm loving these recaps because we're toying with the idea of taking Walker next year (or maybe even the summer before he goes to kindergarten in two years...sob!). Can't wait to read all about the entire trip!

  4. Such a fun recap! I've stayed at the Contemporary before so I feel like staying at one of the big 3 is the only way to go because they have monorail access!

  8. So fun!!! Loving all the pictures! We had dinner at the Polynesian one night when we were there last and that resort was just amazing. Jealous that you stayed there! Chef Mickey's was our favorite - good food and so much fun with the characters. I love that Jack was into them!

  9. I'm so impressed at how well Jack is with the characters! Do you think it helped to go along with older kids? I want to go so bad but don't think our kids would handle it all so well. Can't wait to see more!
