A Sweet Baby Girl Shower

Hi friends! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. I wasn't able to get my post up yesterday because I had a bit of an extended weekend. On Sunday I got up bright and early and headed to Charlotte to help celebrate one of my dear friends at her baby shower!

These girls that helped give the shower have been my best friends since we were in high school. We have been through 4 weddings and 3 babies and soon to be increasing that to 4 babies! Often times high school friends stay tight through college and then it fizzles out. You may keep up with them every now and then but rarely do I hear of a group of girls staying close well after college all the way into the start of their 30's! We all may live in different parts of the state {thank goodness one of them just moved home from Dubai!} but we do a pretty good job of keeping up with each other and seeing every whenever possible. While it's never long enough or soon enough the times we do spend together are always full of laugher and fun!

Out of our friends that have kids this was the first baby girl that we got to celebrate! It was fun to pick out all things pink! We decided to go with a pink and gold "theme". I was in charge of the invitations and a few decorations. I knew exactly who I was going to turn to. I have a friend who owns the cutest business that creates custom invitations, banners, cupcake toppers, Christmas Cards, washable name stickers and even sippy and snack cups! If you are in need of anything for a party or even your kids you've got to check out Olive Juice and Dandelions on Facebook and insta (@olivejuice.dandelions)

The flower came from the local farmers market. They were so pretty. I wish that we had a farmers market where I live that carried fresh flowers!

We didn't want to do a game but thought that it would be fun to have everyone decorate diapers for mom and dad when changing baby girl in the middle of the night.

We kept the food light since it was a late afternoon shower and not centered around a meal time. If you live in NC and haven't tried the lady fingers ham biscuits you are missing out! They are based out of Raleigh but if you live in Charlotte Reid's specialty grocery has them as well. The cupcakes came from Whole Foods. They were just plain yellow cake with white buttercream. {my favorite!}

We asked everyone to bring a book instead of a card. It will be so fun for her to sit around and read everyones notes inside each book when she is reading to baby girl!

As a bonus to driving to Charlotte for the shower I got to spend the night with Patricks aunt and uncle. They are so great and it was so very fun to get to see them. We went to P.F. Chang's for dinner and watched the gymnastics trials. It was nice to sleep all night uninterrupted for once and not have to jump right out of bed at the first peep I heard! I sure did miss my boys during the short trip and loved coming home to lots of hugs and kisses yesterday!

I've got a fun giveaway coming up soon so be on the lookout! Also, I decided to separate my personal instagram feed from my blog feed so if you aren't following me yet please do! @threeboysandagirlblog #shamelessplug

Have a great Tuesday, friends!

  4. I love this shower. Love the pink and gold you did. I did that for the girls nursery. I love vanilla cupcakes and white frosting too. The books instead of a card is such a great idea. I love reading the messages people put in the girls books.

  6. This baby shower looks adorable. All the arrangements were gorgeous. Well, I also attended a rainbow themed shower at some domestic Seattle venues. It was hosted by my sister to welcome her best friend’s first child. That was also a nice event with gorgeous decorations.
