Thursday Confessions
It's time for my Thursday Confessions. Of course I've always got a handful of things that I need to get out there.
I confess...
// That I may or may not have bought Pop Tarts and Lunchables just to see if I could get Jack to actually eat something. He is boycotting most all food lately and it's so frustrating. Also..he wouldn't even touch the Pop Tart. Seriously, who is this kid? Who doesn't like a Pop Tart..it's like a donut.
// That there is 45 minutes in between when I drop Jack off at school and when my barre class starts. I usually run an errand or two during that time. Yesterday I had one quick thing to drop off at the post office and I had 25 minutes to spare. I pulled into the parking lot and just sat there. In silence. It was glorious. I didn't have anyone shouting my name and asking me to do something. Before kids I rarely liked peace and quiet. That's changed..I relish the short times where I have silence.
// That Jack has been extremely whiney and clingy all week. Whatever he had this weekend has turned into a bit of a cold and I don't know if it's that which is causing this or if it's a phase but it's driving me crazy. He want's to be held all the time..and while I love to hold him his 30 lbs is not exactly light and it makes it hard to hold Graham also. I know I will wish for days when he wants to be held very soon!
// That twice this week I got the boys ready and headed to the pool. Only for Jack to whine and want to leave 30 minutes in. It frustrated me to no end. It's not like getting everyone ready and schlepping everything there takes 5 minutes.
// That once again I've caught myself trying to compare Graham to Jack. I was looking back at old pictures and noticed that Jack started crawling on June 19th...well Graham still hasn't totally mastered sitting up on his own so there's no way he will be crawling anytime soon. I know we aren't supposed to compare our kids because all kids are different but man is it hard especially when your kids are exactly 2 years apart so everything matches up date wise.
// That I am beyond over the spit up! It's showing no signs of slowing down and with the added purees he's eating it's disgusting. I feel like he needs to come with a warning label when anyone goes to hold him. Yesterday at the pool he spit up green beans all over my girlfriend.
So there we are..my confessions this week. Most of them have to do with my kids. Because..that's the majority of my life lately! I'd love to know if you have a picky eater what you get them to eat? If I can't even get Jack to eat a Pop Tart I really think there's no hope for him.
See you tomorrow for Friday Favorites!

Said no to pop tarts? Wow! Aren't kids just little drinkers? When Cam wants to leave a few minutes after we get there it annoys the crap out of me. What's the deal kids?
ReplyDeleteOh spit up. Oh kids, Oh babies! Oh mama you need a break! Maybe you need an adult beverage at the pool next time.
ReplyDeleteNo pop tarts?! I used to love those. Did he like the lunchables? I want to try those with my girls. And crustables, but they haven't had peanut butter yet. My FIL is super allergic. Speaking of spit up and a confession I didn't get to include, but Avery had a major blow out this morning and it came out of her diaper where she proceeded to put her hands in it and put it on three toys, the carpet, the foam alphabet mat and on her clothes. It was a really rough morning. Ugh. You need a break. I need a break!!!
ReplyDeleteKids can be so picky! My son will go through stages where he will only want one type of food (right now it is macaroni and cheese). Getting him to eat something else can be such a hassle. I'm glad you were able to get some quiet time before your barre class!
