Thoughts for Thursday: Coffee Talk

There is nothing better than sitting down with a warm cup of coffee and a good friend to chat. So, if you and I were having a coffee date these are some of the things I would share with you..

// I am tired. Like really tired. My kids are wearing me out. Probably because we just got back from being at my parents for 6 days and I didn't get a break. I'm ready to get back into our routine.

// I am so thankful for Jack's awesome teacher who does a fun "camp" at her house during the summer. It's basically the same as preschool just at her house. Each week is a different theme and both my boys will be going 2-3 mornings a week. They will have a blast!

// I don't love summer. There, I said it! It's hot. Routines go out the window. Did I mention ITS HOT?

// I am so excited that Jack is getting more comfortable swimming but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I'm terrified of taking both boys to the pool. There is no way that I can do it alone, some moms are super moms and can do it. I know my super powers and this is not one of them! Thank goodness for my awesome babysitter who will go with me and tackle one kid for me.

// Jack is in full on threenager mode and it may send Patrick and I over the edge. He refuses to listen. He still gets in our bed every night. His attitude stinks and I'm at a loss. I like to think I'm a strict parent and don't let him get away with a lot but man, he's wearing me out and there are times I just don't feel like fighting it.

// Speaking of Jack...the paci is still going strong. I lasted about 2 hours and gave in. I don't even care. He really only has it at bedtime and nap and at this point he can have it until kindergarten if it keeps him from whining!

// I'm so thankful for the friends I have made through blogging. Brittany and I are in the same season of life, we both have 2 boys that are just about the same age. It's so nice to be able to text her on the reg and discuss anything and everything that is going on.

And these are some of the things I would share with you. If we were having coffee what would be on your heart?

  2. I can't wait to see pictures of Jack at the fun camp. Sounds awesome! I enjoy summer but our routine goes out the window too and I don't like that.

  3. Friend, yes! I'm so thankful for you and like I said last night, even though I hate that Jack is acting the same as Walker, I'm just glad we are in it together! And I'm with you: taking them both to the pool alone (other than my in-law's) absolutely terrifies me. And yup, it's so ridiculously humid here today and I thought this morning, "How on earth am I going to make it through August?!" Ha! Love you, friend!

  5. I am so glad you have a blogging mama to talk to about your boys. It is sooo needed. I am sorry Jack has been a bit crazy lately. My girls have been too. We are still paci strong, but mostly at naptime, bedtime and just before. I wish we were able to have a cup of coffee and sit together!!

  6. I am tired too and Summer isn't my favorite. I would much rather just skip right to Fall!

  7. We need to have coffee IRL! You are super mommy and I could totally use your advice :) I totally agree about summer... unless I am at the beach with toes in the sand I am OVER sweating the second I walk outside!! Come to Greenville and lets have a lunch date!

  8. I'm not a huge fan of summer either! I've never liked the extreme seasons. I've always been a fall and spring girl. It's just too dang hot down here in the south in the summer!
