A while back several sweet blog ladies announced that the were hosting a fun Mug Exchange. I have loved participating in the few exchanges I've done in the past and knew I wanted to do this one! I mean, who doesn't love a cute mug especially now that it's getting cold out! I also need all the coffee in the mornings! I am definitely not a morning person!
I was paired with Andrea from The House Of Sprout. I had such a hard time choosing what mug to get her. There were some really cute ones in this shop that I went to but finally decided on one. And funny enough we ended up sending each other the same brand of mug. I had to laugh when I opened hers and realized that the were from the same company! Great minds think alike!
She sent me the cutest mug for fall. I love the colors and the fact that it has a top makes it even better. I have to drink my coffee out of travel mugs because of little hands that like to grab. It makes the chance of a spill less likely.
This was a cute exchange and I loved being apart of it! Do you have a favorite go to mug that you use on the reg?
Now on to something a bit more serious. As most of you know Hurricane Matthew hit the East Coast this past weekend. Originally the track had it going through North Carolina but as the week went on it shifted to off the coast. So I really didn't think that we would get much of anything. I was wrong. The rain started on Saturday and it did. not. stop. until Sunday. I'm not talking just a little rain. I'm talking a solid down pour all day long. The ditch in our front yard filled up rapidly and before I knew it the street was full of water and you couldn't tell where the street was. The water was half way up our yard.
Thankfully by morning the water had gone back down and there was little damage done to my neighborhood. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the county. The damage was bad in some neighborhoods. We saw tons of trees scattered everywhere. The flooding has been even worse. My brother in law cannot get to his house but by boat. We have friends who own farm land and could not get to the driveway due to high waters. School has been cancelled today and we are all praying that the water ceases to rise soon!
Some of these pictures were taken by my brother in law and my sweet friend Kristi!
Many other counties in Eastern North Carolina are just as bad if not worse. Please join me in praying for all those affected by this horrible storm from Virginia down to Florida!
